Toei Animation announced on Saturday a television anime series of the Japanese game show Run for Money: Tousouchuu (Run for the Money), titled Tousouchuu: The Great Mission, and revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and an announcement video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2023.

The anime series is set in the future when humanity migrated to the moon due to Earth's climate change. It will incorporate original elements unique to the anime, such as human drama about survival, and will feature a diverse field that blurs countries and eras such as Shibuya, the Edo-period era, and London.

Run for Money: Tousouchuu began airing on Fuji TV in 2004 irregularly and inspired stage productions, book publications, and a Netflix release.

A game show becoming an anime?  That's a first.  It isn't half bad either.

In fact, it even makes more sense than the anime adaptation of the doll series last year or the anime adaptation of the plush toys the year before.
