I'm here, but I won't be posting much for a while. My bf and I are currently homeless courtesy of hurricane Lili, and our efforts must go into remedying that situation. I'll be up and running as soon as possible.

DMW

Very sorry to hear that. Good luck and a speedy end to your troubles!

Well, I'm truly damn sorry to hear that, Whopper, as much as I regret not being able to help you, being half-the-Globe away...

I do hope you two will be back on your feet soon. Keep us posted, if you can.

Best wishes and hugs, Ralexx

Hopefully you'll be doing better soon. Those hurricanes are hell. Here in Cali, we've got El Niño and La Niña. Back when I lived in SD, we had tornados and weather that was like having part of the southern hemisphere in the northern hemisphere.

Sorry to hear that, DMW. Hope you are being looked after by the Feds (e.g. FEMA).

Take them for every dime you can. LOL

Thanks for the messages for wishes of recovery, everyone. I would like to put everyone's mind at ease. Dirk and I are not destitute and living on the streets. From the time of the evacuation to two days ago we were staying with my family and could continue to do so, but we really needed to come back to New Orleans in order to continue to work and to look for another place to live. We are in the meantime living in a very nice hotel, and maid service is much appreciated. Dirk and I have made a fair amount of money taking off our clothes and have built up a nice nest egg; this is that rainy day we have saved up for. Also, the other dancers put on a benefit show and raised an unbelievable amount of money for our cause. Who says strippers are only out for themselves? And trust me, the FEMA are doing their part as well. So we're getting by. The main problem is that suitable vacant living quarters are hard to come by since the hurricane. We always seem to find the perfect place right after someone else has snatched it up. Such is life. But 'I will survive' (Whopper quotes Gloria Gaynor, risking a possible questioning of his butch reputation!). Thanks again, my friends!

Ineligible: I'm sorry to hear about this, DMW. Did you lose a lot of personal possessions? I hope you get some more permanent accomodation soon.

Unfortunately, we both lost a lot of personal possessions ... but now for some good news: we now have a place. Bad news: it's close to the French Quarter, so it's not in as nice a neighbourhood as our last digs. Good news: it's bigger and better-designed than our old place. Best news: we're not homeless any more!

Ça alors ! Le Vieux Carré !! Proche de la France, plus ou moins ! :D

Great to hear that, Whopper ! And - man ! - HOT picture !! 8) ;D 8)

questlec: Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hang in there, it'll get better.
Just came onto this site, wanted to let you know how good you look.. Appreciate the sharing.
Best of luck

drrionelli: DoubleMeat,

I'm somewhat new, here, but I have read your posts from long ago (MUCH prior to making my own).

I wish to join in the others to remark how sorry I am for your collective misfortunes :'(. Truly, you are both, nonetheless blessed with good attitudes.

All will be well for you. Keep a positive mindset. And, if ever you feel down, hey, it's normal, even expected. But do remember that:

From the time you're in the cradle
'Til the time you're in the hearse
Things are never so bad
That they couldn't get worse.

You'll both be fine. Keep us apprised.
